Here I have worked with creating the painting using tonal under painting then using thin layers of paint to build the background and the depth in the sheep The closer to the viewer the thicker the paint and more bold the brush stokes. I also like playing with the idea of a painting that is not formally set up so I have created the image that the painting has been torn out of a page.
