Biography

Having loved art at school, I didn't carry on with this love into adulthood, busy raising a family and working as an Administration Officer in schools in Victoria and Queensland, Australia. After my husband died, who was originally from London, my daughter & family took me on a wonderful trip to the UK in 2017. We visited the Derwent Pencil Factory in Cumberland and I bought a set of lead pencils and an A5 sketch book, thinking that one day I might use them. On returning to Australia I found a Meetup Sketch group which I joined, and for the past four years, have never looked back with my art. Always trying something new and adventuring into plein air, oils, acrylics, watercolours and pastels. I am just loving it and my inspiration is from the Leisure Painter & The Artist magazines which I now subscribe to and learning a lot from the various artists and their techniques. Thank you so much.
