Biography

As a landscape painter I mostly work en plein air in oils. I like being in contact with nature and painting outdoors is the best way to connect with it. It is not so much about creating an exact picture of my surroundings but intending to encapsulate its essence and atmosphere. A bit like Cezanne, one of my favourite painters. As I have lived mostly overseas and travelled extensively I have painted landscapes in various different countries. Now I mostly paint on the Costa Brava in Spain where I am based. I like its beautiful scenery and vibrant Mediterranean colours, and ....its sunny weather. I have exhibited in England , including at Patchings, France and Spain where I had personal exhibitions and keep exhibiting regularly.
