Bob Ward

Biography

I became interested in painting when my Aunt gave me a set of oil paints for my 15th birthday. Now retired I am able to pursue my interest, subject to the usual needs of the grandchildren. I worked mainly in oils and watercolour before joining a local art group at the community centre where oils are banned because of the mess and smell! Hence my venture into acrylics which, having tried a few techniques I am finding interesting and manageable. I have had little formal training, but as a retired architect I struggle at times to break away from the details and free up my style. It's a work in progress.
