Tony Osborne

Biography

I have always enjoyed 'making and doing things', whether woodworking and cabinet making, cooking (but not baking...it's just too precise for me!), gardening, illustration, sketching and painting. So having recently retired I took the opportunity to spend some more time practicing my artwork. As a painter (or indeed any of the other interests listed above) I am 'Self Taught', though that is a bit of a huge over-statement, 'Self Learning' I think is a much more appropriate description of where I am! I currently work predominantly in oils and much of my work is done Plein Air but I also like to sketch in watercolour and ink, particularly when travelling. These sketches will often form the basis of my oil paintings back in the Studio ('The shed'!).
