Hollie

A Pencil drawing of Kaye Burbage's 50th Birthday Present of her dog Hollie

I would like some help and advice as I would like to get my artwork recognised. I am 25 years old currently working in Sainsbury's full time. So many of my work colleagues think I am wasted working there as they think I am a good drawer and should do something about it. This is why I am posting this blog today. So here is a very recent drawing I have created, I have only just finished this drawing of my work friend's spaniel for her 50th birthday present. This dog's name is Hollie and I am also going to draw my friend's other dog which is another spaniel called Poppy. I have drawn this Dog on A2 sized paper using various different pencils and other materials such as an electric rubber, paper stumps, and other materials. The other dog (once i get round to drawing it) will be on the same paper as this one, side by side. I have lost count of how long/many hours it has taken me to draw as I try to draw very detailed sections rather than draw vaguely. Thank you for taking the time to view this image :)

Nicola, your work looks fantastic, you have captured a look in the eyes that only spaniels have, my son has two of these lovely dogs. Like Margaret I can't offer any advice other than carry on what you are doing, I'm sure there are many experts on this site that will be more than willing to help you.😀

Nicola, I have just been looking at your work in the gallery and it is so good. I can't give you any advice as I only draw and paint as my hobby (but I'm sure there are lots of artists on here who can) but may I suggest you check out Amie Howard Art, who uses coloured pencils and also watercolour, and Kirsty Partridge another artist I like, on YouTube. They are both young artists who have recently been talking about how they set up their business so you may find some interesting pieces of info there.
