I'm delighted that my recent artwork has been shown at the Sock Gallery Loughborough where I put together a selection of paintings which showcased my recent move towards using acrylic and mixed media. As a watercolorist with many years of experience both in teaching and in painting it has been an exciting time for me to make a move in this direction.Brought about by recent back problems working with this exciting medium has been both challenging and invigorating. As a teacher of adults, with twenty years of experience,I frequently was heard to say that if you were feeling comfortable then you were not growing! How true this is and how I've experienced my own sayings these last couple of years!
As I experiemetend I found three channels of interest growing for me, flattered perspective, texture within flower borders and beds and a nearing towards simple abstract qualities within my work. In my exhibition the viewer could clearly see these themes as they developed and changed.
