In this webinar, you will find out what to look for in a good reference photograph to paint from. You will see concrete examples of how Greta changes things up to create a stronger composition and more visually pleasing oil painting. She will also show you how to simplify messy areas and create the illusion of detail. As you jump into these topics, you will recreate a two-award winning TALP exhibition painting.

  • The webinar will take place on Zoom and will last for approximately 1 hour including a Q&A session (these are approximate timings and may vary slightly).
  • Once you have registered for the webinar, you'll receive an email confirmation containing your link to join the webinar on the day, plus Greta's suggested materials list and reference photograph.
  • During the webinar, you'll have the opportunity to submit your questions and chat with fellow attendees using the Q&A and 'chat' buttons at the bottom of your screen. 
  • The webinar will be recorded and will be made available to all registered attendees the day after the live session, for a one month following the live webinar.

About Greta Vilidaite

Greta Vilidaite

Greta is an oil painter and art-tutor based in Sheffield. In 2022 she received the Arts Council DYCP grant and began painting full-time, exhibiting in a number of local and national art exhibitions. Her work has won multiple awards at The Artist and Leisure Painter competitions.

She runs painting workshops and demonstrations in the north of England, the midlands and beyond. Her previous academic background in Neuroscience shines through in her methodological and accessible approach to both painting and tutoring.
