Suggested materials
Watercolours
- French Ultramarine
- Winsor Blue GS (Phthalo Blue GS and Intense Blue are the same)
- Cerulean Blue
- Cobalt Blue
- Quinacridone Magenta (or any purple red)
- Winsor Red (or any orange red Pyrrol Red, Cadmium Red)
- Indian Yellow (or any orange yellow such as New Gamboge)
- Winsor Yellow (or any green yellow such as lemon yellow, azo yellow, aureolin, primary yellow)
- Burnt Sienna
- White Gouache
Brushes
- Mop or hake or soft flat for big washes (Grahame uses Princeton Neptune)
- Size 10-14 round (Grahame uses Princeton Aqua Elite)
- Size 7 round (Grahame uses Princeton Aqua Elite)
- Small swordliner or rigger or reservoir brush (Grahame uses Princeton Aqua Elite size 10 rigger)
Paper
- Quarter sheet (28 x 38cm or 11 x 16”) or thereabouts
- Good quality watercolour paper. Grahame will use Millford and Saunders Waterford NOT paper from St. Cuthberts Mill
