Suggested materials

Watercolours

  • French Ultramarine
  • Winsor Blue GS (Phthalo Blue GS and Intense Blue are the same)
  • Cobalt Blue
  • Quinacridone Magenta (or any purple red)
  • Pyrrole Red (or Winsor Red, Cadmium Red, Sandal Red)
  • Permanent Yellow Deep (or any orange yellow such as Indian or Cadmium)
  • Primary Yellow (or any green yellow such as lemon yellow, azo yellow, Winsor)
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Brown Madder
  • White Gouache or Titanium White

Brushes

  • Mop or hake or soft flat for big washes
  • Size 7 and 10-14 round or mop (Grahame uses Princeton Aqua Elite_
  • Small swordliner or rigger or reservoir brush (Grahame uses Princeton Rigger size 10)

Paper

  • Quarter sheet (28 x 38cm or 11 x 16”) or thereabouts
  • Good quality watercolour paper. I will use Millford and Saunders from St. Cuthberts Mill
  • If you wish to paint along, please have your subject drawn before the webinar.
