Still Life with Physallis, Teasel and Holly

Sue Smith shows how to create a beautiful, festive still life of leaves and berries using watercolour, Inktense pencils, waterproof pen and collage.

Sue explains how she creates her own collage papers for her mixed media paintings saying, 'I make my own collage papers by printing on Deli paper, a kind of greaseproof paper such as used in catering outlets, but used for printmaking. I use a Gelli plate to print on using natural material such as leaves and grasses. I use these for my mixed media collage work by tearing pieces and sticking them onto my drawings with Mod Podge or PVA glue'.

For an alternative way of making your own collage papers, see this demonstration by Doris Charest.
