Susanne Bowler has been selected as the winning artist in November's The Artist 90th anniversary challenge for her pen, ink and watercolour painting, My Garden Through the Arch with Autumn Leaves, see below.

Each month we are inviting entries on a theme inspired by a key event of 1931, the year which saw the launch of the magazine.

In November 1931 the Maple Leaf Gardens opened in Toronto so we invited artists to paint autumn garden scenes for this challenge.

We loved the unusual composition and autumnal colours in Susanne's mixed media painting.
