Winner of May's The Artist 90th anniversary challenge announced

Marjorie Collins has been selected as the winning entrant in our May 90th anniversary painting challenge.

Marjorie Collins has been selected as the winning artist in May's The Artist 90th anniversary challenge for her watercolour painting, Stardust, Times Square, see below.

Each month we are inviting entries on a theme inspired by a key event of 1931, the year which saw the launch of the magazine.

In May 1931 the Empire State Building opened in New York and we invited you to paint a NYC or any other city scene.

We loved the unusual viewpoint of Marjorie's strong close-up detail of an iconic cityscape.
