Winner of August's The Artist 90th anniversary challenge announced
See the winning entrant in our August 90th anniversary painting challenge.

David Douglas has been selected as the winning artist in August's The Artist 90th anniversary challenge for his oil painting, Early Morning Swim, see below.
Each month we are inviting entries on a theme inspired by a key event of 1931, the year which saw the launch of the magazine.
In August 1931, the Yangtzee river flooded in China and we invited artists to be inspired by the theme of water for this month's competition.
We felt David really explored all aspects of the subject with the sunlight reflecting on the waters' surface and on his underwater swimmer.
Early Morning Swim, oil.
Congratulations to David, who wins a £50 voucher to spend on Search Press books.
All winning entries will also be featured in a 2022 issue of The Artist.
