The Great Paint-in - Charity Plein Air Competition & Online Gallery
Painting competition and sale, supporting Pilgrims Hospices, via an online gallery during the Covid- 19 lockdown.
To replace the annual Plein Air Kent, which usually takes place in Hole Park, Rolvenden in May, Joanne Weaver has organised an online event to take place during the lockdown.
Open to all UK artists, you have one week to complete a painting - 23rd May- 30th May - strictly inspired by a current view from your balcony, window, garden or a photo taken on one of your permitted exercise trips during that week.
Then send a good quality, accurate image of your painting with the title, medium, size your full name, price (including 25%commission) and whether or not the work is framed.
Joanne Weaver will then create an online gallery which will be opened for a public vote.
The top three artists will win the following prizes:
- 1st Prize £100
- 2nd Prize £50
- 3rd prize Bottle of Champagne
All work will be for sale and Joanne will link buyer and artist in order to complete the purchase. You can charge for postage and you will be expected to make your 25% donation to the Pilgrims Hospices – a link to the hospice will be supplied for this as they will then get a further income if you are tax payer with gift aid etc.
There will also be a child ( 4-10 yrs) & young persons (11-18) section, they too can price their work and again 25% commission will be expected. (The gallery will be segmented for under 18 and their will also be a public vote and prizes - to be announced).
