At the beginning of the year we launched The Artist 90th anniversary celebrations with a competition offering the unique opportunity to feature on the cover of the magazines.

From the almost 360 entries, Quarantine (see below) by Sally Roberts was selected as the winning entry.

Sally is an emerging artist who works primarily in oils and is based in Lancashire, England. Her work has been shown in the United Kingdom and China. Recently she exhibited in the Royal Society of Portrait Painters exhibition and the Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Prize.

Quarantine was completed during the first lockdown and we felt that Sally's striking image told the story of living through the restrictions Covid 19 has placed upon the world; a perfect choice for The Artist December 2021 front cover.
