Nicholas Jones - 30 Years at Crane Kalman Gallery
Solo exhibition open until October 30th, 2021
This ambitious yet intimate retrospective will showcase 34 paintings created in oil and acrylic on canvas, paper and board and give a fascinating insight into the journey of a landscape painter and his relationship with the gallery over three decades.
The 30-year collaboration between artist and gallerist started when Nicholas Jones met Andras Kalman, the British-Hungarian art dealer who founded Crane Kalman and championed the work of L.S. Lowry, Ben Nicholson, Graham Sutherland and Mary Newcomb.
Initially more abstract, the artist’s work has since moved towards figuration and back again, and evokes the transient beauty of the natural world, and the sublime grandeur of the Arctic.
