Extended Deadline for our 2020 TALP Open Exhibitions
Changes to this year's TALP Open Art Exhibitions
We are living through worrying times for everyone, with fast-changing events, and constantly evolving government guidance and advice to take actions never before asked of us. Coronavirus has presented an unprecedented global crisis and our thoughts are with everybody directly affected, especially those facing significant impacts on their health and livelihoods. Our concerns and priorities are to protect and safeguard the well-being of our families, friends and the communities we serve.
With all this in mind, the postponement of this summer’s Patchings Festival (to July 8-11, 2021) and temporary closure of the galleries at Patchings Art Centre, we regret that we are unable to stage The Artist and Leisure Painter TALPOpen 2020 gallery exhibitions from July 9 to August 9, 2020. Instead we will be staging the two selected exhibitions online and increasing the promotions of our online exhibitions to our worldwide audiences here on PaintersOnline, our e-newsletters, social media channels and in our magazines.
To adjust to the new arrangements we are extending the closing date for entries to May 29, 2020. After the closing date, the judges will select the same number of works for the online exhibitions as they would have done for the gallery exhibitions in early June, following which entrants will receive an email inviting them to access the results of the judging. The final awards judging will still take place, virtually, on July 8, 2020. Successful entrants will be invited to access the results and see the exhibitions and award winners online from July 9, 2020.
