Great piece.. May I ask you a question? Why do you prime the board with Aqua Gesso and what type of effects do you get out of this process? Thanks!

Thank you for your comment. I used an acrylic primed board which would not have taken pure watercolour... so I used the Aqua gesso to prime it to make it watercolour tolerant. It's not as easy as painting on paper, but is very interesting to try - with some unusual results which don't happen on paper.

This watercolour on board primed with Aqua Gesso was worked from a photograph .When I saw the photo I knew I wanted to paint it in a semi abstract style- the snowy fields reminded me of patchwork.
