Acrylic on canvass, 26 by 20 inches Now in ruins, St Mary's Abbey dates back to William the Conqueror. Originally a Church, it became an Abbey in the 13th century and retained this status until the 16th century when the Dissolution of Monasteries occurred under Henry VIII. Tony
