Noctorum Wirral 1956
Watercolour sketch from an old photograph. My wife and I used to spend Saturday afternoons sitting on a bench looking out over the fields and talking about the future. We often listened to the play broadcast on the BBC on our portable radio. The walk back took us past our favourite house' called Oak Corttage', and a village furniture store. We spent a lot of time staring at things we couldn't afford in those days. The daydreams however cost nothing.

In 1979 my wife organised a series of painting lessons with a French Artist who taught art in a college in north west London. The painting lessons turned out to be anything but. For ten months he made me draw anything from toe nail clippings to the pieta and paintings in the various galleries…
