Pencil portrait of Ashley, a teacher at the school where my wife worked in 1965. It catered for pupils with severe learning difficulties in the Southampton area. My wife thought she was an inspired teacher and judging by the throng around her throughout the day she must have been someone very special to the children. We kept in touch with her via letters each Xmas until three years ago.
