Watercolour painting from a b/w photo taken in 1944. Frances worked with my aunt Jesse as a welder in a ship yard during the war. Friday night she and my aunt used to go to the dance at the Services club. They met up at my grandmother's house to make themselves 'presentable'. My Grandma always used to complain at the smell of perfume and the show of legs as they put stain on them.
