Bird of Paradise Flower

Great job with oil sticks Shaun, I struggle with them!

Love it, Shaun...I've told mine if it doesn't flower next year I'll be very cross with it! The orange against the red curtain is so effective!

Thank you Heather and Thalia. Alan - I started to use oil sticks when the temperature here in Cyprus made the use of acrylic paint almost impossible- I have got used to them and they help me make spontaneous marks and thank you for continued positivity re my work.

You do some magical art with the oil sticks Shaun, another vibrant stunner.

Thank you Dennis and Fiona. I want make the flowers look as if they are flying, thus the name!

I love the way you use colour Shaun

Beautiful colours and fine composition Shaun. I really like this.

Many thanks Susan and Diane.

Very striking - like the strong colours and image, Shaun

About the Artist
Shaun Byatt

I try to achieve vibrant colours in my paintings. I work intuitively with large flat brushes - I also try not to overwork my pictures and they are often completed in two sittings. I use good quality acrylics because of their excellent pigment content. I like to interpret what i see in front of me…
