This was a commission of a very much loved Beagle who has sadly passed, leaving a gaping hole in the lives of his owners. I hope this painting will bring them some comfort. The lighting was tricky as the reference image was quite highly contrasted so it was a challenge to find the right tones for the warm light in the white fur and cool colour tones in the shadowy areas. I am pleased with it though! Oil on board, 16 x 20"
