14 x 22 inch watercolour over pencil on 140lb rough Langton. Kenilworth Castle on one of the hottest days of the year. I sheltered under one of the massive arched openings in the Norman Keep whose walls are over ten feet thick. Here, I was particularly struck both the way in which this massive block of ruins stood out so sharply against the background of trees and also by the subtle range of colours of the Midland sandstone.
