Wonderful painting, Rupert, lovely atmosphere and great touch of light.

You sound disappointed with your oils Rupert, I think they are timeless. Your watercolours are brilliant but your oils are special. I still remember the oils you did of the red cabbage and the dead Magpie, that's what your oils do, they stay in the memory.

Great work!

Amazing light!

Hang on Studio Wall

8 x 12 inch oil on plywood. This was the second sketch I did at Orton on the Hill yesterday but again, I felt I got rather bogged down with the oil paints. I suppose that it's just a question of practice in order to go forward. By the time this painting was nearing the end, the church seemed to fill with bees which whizzed around me like bullets.
