Gail in the sun

Gail in the sun

Lovely piece of pastel work Rosalind, i have not tried a black background on my pastel paintings yet ,but after seeing your painting i will give it a try. Well done!!!

Thank you Steven. This was my first go with the black velour pastel paper. The colour doesn't rub in quite so freely as on normal pastel paper, but I think it works well for certain subjects. I'm having another go with grey velour paper and two different black Labs, so will see how that turns out. The Unison pastels are gorgeous to use, so soft and buttery - my first attempt with those too!

Very well done, and thanks for the info....
