Hard to paint all those greens, and still make the painting interesting; works for me, I really want to go there and take a look. You paint water well: I find this difficult in oil, but you've got a real sense of flow. Could there be more tonal variation in the tree? Wasn't there, so don't know - but the painting works as a whole, which is what matters.

I like it as it is. You have a knack of showing water with just a few lines. Lovely. Jx

Agree with Robert. Interesting way to paint but works well...

Superb. The main focal point is that gleaming water, and I like the strong calming horizontals in the background.

My favourite place in the Derbyshire Dales a small brook near Bradbourne and returning to my favourite subject of river views. Have painted this brook many times and is forever changing. It is very fast flowing and has tiny bridges for the sheep to get across into the next field.
