Fair takes your breath away when it happens - I tried a somewhat similar study very recently, which may be perused if such is your pleasure ..... I found that relating the other colours to the flood of light was quite difficult, but it was worth it, too.

Very atmospheric. I like the golden light on the foreground trees with the rather forbidding darkness of the woods beyond.

While out on a walk one cold wet and dull winters day. The clouds were all thick and grey. Then all within less than 30 seconds a gap appeared and bright light shone onto some trees lighting them up like gold. Managed to get a snap before it turned all grey again. The flock of birds I added to improve the composition. Oil on canvas box frame. size 12x10 inches.
