You have captured their ager and the soothing incomer, you may be right about the hard edges but that doesn't detract from a smashing pice, my fave garden birds.

You have really captured their squabbling antics John, and I like the almost semi abstractness of the foliage.

John, thank you for your comment on my Cosmos. I have two Goldfinches at the moment doing just the same thing on the sunflower hearts in the garden. They get very feisty sometimes! Smashing painting, full of vigour.

PS; Just taking a second look.....I think the hard edges actually have an impact on the work by pointing up the sharpness of the birds' attack, which was probably in your mind as you painted it. I always think that your feeling about a painting comes down through your arm into your hand and then your brush!!
