A really beautiful study. Of a lovely bird. The greenfinch and Siskins are my favourites on my feeder.

A lovely study John, shame about the little bird, they seem to have disappeared from our garden at the moment, although we have plenty of others on the feeders. ☺

Really good work John, shame about the little bird. I feed the birds every morning but I don't think I've seen these around here, loads of chaffs though, I will look out for them.

Lovely work but sad story John.

Sad but lovely John a sensitive and heartfelt commemoration

Of course I do not like to find birds like this but it did give me the opportunity to closely study its form and feathers. Thank you all folks for your feedback it’s very much appreciated.

What a beautifully described study of the bird. The wing feathers are so detailed. I’m glad it’s not just me that sees this a a great subject. Having said that, I put my bird in a plastic bag in our fridge!!! A long time ago I might add. Student days.

Sad but as you say a great opportunity to study these smashing little fellas at close quarters. They have started to make a come back to my feeders, I think they’ve had a better year or they are becoming a little more immune to the trichomoniasis which has knocked their numbers down.

Beautiful studies of these little birds, John.....and thank you for the fascinating insight and background into your life as an artist.

Thanks Diana, I often freeze finds in the fridge,

Thanks Fiona, I think it’s the goldfinches that are most common these days.

Thanks Chandra, art or any art is a healing activity.

Do you?!! A man after my own heart😁

Poor thing. Lovely work John.

Sad little story....I always want all the birds to “make it “ but beautifully drawn John.
