Woodpecker Over Rape Field.

Woodpecker Over Rape Field.

If you add anything it will detract from the Woodpecker which is your focal point (I think). Perhaps some longish grasses to the base on the RH side... I like the whole thing as it is anyway.

Lovely as it is John. I agree with Alan, maybe a very few long grass spikes.

Difficult to be critical of your work, John. I love the field and tree textures and the vibrant colours. Compositionally you have given the bird space to fly in to and broken that the yellow sward with brown/orange -everything right as far as I'm concerned. Continue the fence with strands of wire -possible alighting point?

John, I am really liking your new bird paintings. You get a lovely soft feel into the picture. I wondered about a wire fence but it is good just how it is

It’s beautiful, John.

It looks great to me John! Wonderful colour on the rape.

It works for me John as the woodpecker is your focal point - anything else might detract from it. I feel the whole scene is perfect. Remember, less is more (and I do hate that saying)!☹

This is lovely john

Thank you Alan, Jennifer, Willie, Annie, Ellen, Margaret, Adele and David, your feedback is most helpful. Your right Adele, less is more and beautiful. Thanks. Such a lot of trouble with the broadband today.

Colour, texture, a walk into painting...

Sylvia, yes a walk into, Thanks you.

Beautiful, colours, John....yes, I think just strengthen the foreground a bit maybe and makie it a little more uneven with some taller flower headshere and their. Still a lovely picture as it is though!

Perfect as it is John, the woodpecker is very fortunate to fly into these gold colours , beautiful.

Oil oncanvas box frame. 12x10 inches. I think the composition is rather weak in the foreground,, needs a bit more. What do you think?
