Hi Peter, love all the marks. The only thing my eye was searching for in this one was maybe some more detail on the distant land - some small recognisable feature - to bring a focus. Hope that's helpful! I find it's good to put a picture away for a day or two, and then look at it again to detect what needs doing, if anything. In the end, I think it's practice, studying pictures and artists you love, and finding out what hits the spot for you. I love it all anyhow. Best of luck, Shirley.

Hi Peter, I think this painting is the most successful of your set.... The reason being you have been able to soften your forms. I think if you google 'Sfumato', and you applied this to your surfer, or the portrait of the bloke, they would transform. I hope this may help. Oils are able to be worked on, unlike watercolour, so I know you will be able to use this in future..... I will look to see the change!!!
