Still Life Practice.

Don’t be to hard on yourself Denise there are some very nice bits in your painting. The glass is particularly good overall I think it make a good watercolour sketch. I only ever see the mistake or the bit I’m not happy with in my own paintings and I know a lot of fellow artist are the same . Bit of a contradiction but chin up, head down and plod on will be a better day tomorrow.

Agree with Paul, I’ve had a couple of days not producing what I had in my mind, but it’s all good experience. I like your leaf colours, something I’m not good at, and the glass is good.

If we were pleased with everything we do we wouldn't get that thrill or excitement when something really works. The glass and the water have worked really well.

A beauty Denise

The vase and leaves are lovely, Denise, especially the colours. I always think we learn a lot from things that don’t go right and it’s a valuable part of the painting process - just put it down to experience and try again!

Water and glass are wonderful. The dark leaves dominate, so I would try lifting some of the colour out. But you have had a go, which is more than I have done with my birthday flowers. I find roses scary !
