Starling’s Dusk, Walberswick

A lot of courage in this painting, well done!

Thank you for that! I witnessed this scene in February at Walberswick. The long horizontal format seemed so right at first, but I realised as I went on, that by choosing this format I had limited the vertical emphasis of the birds swirling about. Very difficult to depict a moment frozen in time but still give the feeling of the swirling nature of the birds. Has anybody else had a go at this subject?

Beautifully painted Elizabeth, what a sight!
