Lovely painting 🖼

A beautiful painting of a great coastline. Well Michale you know what they say about time when your enjoying yourself.

I like how you have painted the foreground Michael - a lovely scene.

Michael I lived in this township, is that the salmon bothy just up from the beach? I lived about a two minute walk away. I’m familiar with skies such as this and the beautiful blue seas. The bothy stands out against that brooding sky…..lovely.

Thank you Faye. It is a great coastline Paul - thank you and yes, I know, times flies but unfortunately rather too quickly for my liking! Well, would you believe it Fiona; if I’d known that I have painted you in the picture! What kind of attire? Wet suit …. Wellies and Barbour Jacket …. thick Aran sweater, scarf wide brimmed hat, sketch book paints and easel …… I can oblige 😎. I bow to your superior knowledge on the salmon bothy; probably is but much time has passed. Glad this rings a bell with you; I like the brooding sky too and I was happy with the foreground. Think I could have made the sea more lively and interesting.

Lovely scene Michael. Gone dark over Bill’s mother’s ;)

Thanks Carole. Yes, my mum from the Isle of Wight used to talk about Will’s mother’s. Local variation I suppose!

Very good Michael. I particularly like the mark making in the foreground

Excellent painting Michael.

Heather, George & Maureen - thank you all very much. I think I could have improved this painting with a more lively sea

Stunning use of washes, and a super composition. Beautifully done.

Thank you Seok for that generous comment. One of my favourite parts of the British Isles … often wet and windy, yes, but beautiful.

Lovely painting Michael

In 1966 I was here with a friend as we meandered slowly down the west coast of Scotland from Durness in my VW 'Beetle' on a week's holiday. Lovely coastline. In my mind it seems like yesterday ....... but 55 years ago! Watercolour 15x11 in.
