Great Gable from Haystacks.

I like it too, I was up there on April and have a rendition of my own tucked away somewhere! I love the way you have painted Great Gable with those gorgeous colours suggesting patches of light. Like the little figures making their way up to the summit too!

A very ‘happy painting’ Michael. Lovely glowing colours mingling on the hills. Watercolour at it’s best, for me anyway.

Please show us sometime Sarah. Glad you like it; was never happier than on the fells … it all started with a school geography week in the Langdales in 1954. Boy did I get wet but I was hooked!

No - it was not me leaning on the stick but could be! These days I would need a Sedan chair propelled by four sturdy nurses (probably equipped with oxygen) to get up there 😎

I know what you mean Michael 😂. Derbyshire Dales is the most I can do these days, a miniature Lake District!

I don’t like it Michale , it’s so good I have to say the it’s above being liked it’s a superb little painting. I would proudly have it framed and on display , it’s has that beautiful watercolour transparency to the colours, something we don’t see so often these days.

Lovely to hear about your climb up Great Gable Michael. That might have been around the time I first climbed it with my parents. I have been going every year for 31 years now with them (now just my Dad and my sister). And I manage to squeeze in a visit or two most years with my boyfriend too!! Great Gable is a wonderful place, a little scary in places but that makes it all the more awesome (in the proper sense of the word!) Definitely nice places for the inward eye!
