Twee, where? Trees and reflections are excellent Michael. Lots of variation in height and placement which are mirrored in the lovely still water. What makes it stand out is that the background and foreground are not competing in any way…..the trees and reflections are the stars.

Thank you all for the appreciative comments. A simple scene but I’m pleased you think it works. When I said ‘twee’ Carol & Fiona I was trying to say that it was a bit precise and lacking in freedom. I like to paint in a looser style but this one needed a bit more precision and I have enough trouble already trying to control a rather shaky right hand!

Exercise in painting reflections based on a photo I found on the net. Perhaps a bit "twee" but I do think the line of dark trees make a good picture.
