Monnow Bridge and gatehouse Monmouth

A lovely painting. I think your labours have been very worthwhile!

Lovely, Michael! A fascinating bridge, and I love all the light you have achieved here. It doesn't look laboured to me.

I really like the pastel colours here Michael, they have given the subject and your painting that sense of age. The bridge is great and I like the inclusion of the figures on the stepping stones. Thank you for the historical notes, I’m always interested to hear about the history of a place or building etc.

Much to like about it Michael, I also like the inclusion of the figures, and it’s always good when given background information.

A rather laboured attempt at a beautiful scene from a photo I took on Wednesday while my wife was at the opticians. Used to be the main road entrance to the town but now pedestrianised and replaced by a modern road bridge on which I stood for my reference photo.
