The River Wye at Hereford

Beautiful rendering of the cathedral and surrounding with excellent painted reflections in the water. Not messy at all or quick slap dash...Just pure good painting..

A charming scene, beautifully painted with lovely reflections.

Like this very lovely scene Michael.

That’s a very generous comment John. There are things I could have done better including better perspective of river bank which is too high on the left. Thank you too Anne & Carole.

I don’t see messy or heavy handed Michael. I see a competent watercolour of a complicated scene, delivered in a relaxed way. The cathedral is superb!

Works well for me Michael, the reflections have a real wet feel.

I think your specs have misted up Fiona! You see only the good - thank you.

Stephen - I’ve wanted to paint this for some time but always baulked at it. Ideally I would like to have simplified it.

I like it Michael!

Beautiful, remember that scene very well.

That’s good Diane! Romila - thank you. I’ve just discovered your River Wye painting from a little way downstream - excellent!

Always first class Michael

I think you are generous Heather - my perspective let me down a bit!

Hang on Studio Wall

An attempt to paint Hereford Cathedral and the River Wye. A bit messy and heavy-handed but you can't win them all!
