I love boats but I agree they aren’t that easy! Super job here though I must say.

A great painting Michael I just love a boat painting and this is a very good one .

Lovely balance between foreground and distance. Understated re palette, veryattractive, Michael.

This is really good Michael (as always)

Lovely, Michael!

Lovely painting, everything works well, I particularly like the way you have treated distant buildings

A delightful scene and watercolour Michael. Lovely contrast between distance and foreground, or should I say foreshore.

Lovely scene - well painted, Michael

Thank you all for those very nice comments. I am pleased the contrast between foreground and background comes across. Could have made a better job of the water reflections but, as you will all know, you only get one chance and fiddling with them usually makes things worse!

Very sensible to not go back in on the reflections Michael especially as I think they look fine, really like your subdued background and the way it contrasts with your boats, a good job.

Thank you Barry. Boats and harbours make good subjects for us don't they. Bit tricky to paint sometimes but fun!

I very much like this and the boats are painted so well as are the reflections, really well done.

Thank you William. When (if !) we can travel freely once more it will be nice to visit some these places again.

I do like boats and they are a challenge to draw. Mevagissey has a special memory for me - stayed there on my first family holiday in 1945 at the age of six. Boy, that seems a long time ago! Remember Dad had to save up petrol coupons to get us there.
