Pontcysyllte Aquaduct North Wales - watercolour

Lovely Michael

Great sense of distance.

What a lovely view through the trees, it’s as if they are framing a frame of the far distant landscape. Really like this Michael, especially the hint of autumn foliage.

Thank you Heather, Stephen & Fiona. My father painted a much better version in gouache some 60 years ago! He would have been pleased to know I had had a go.

Super distant view of the aquaduct and different aspect from the usual photos. I've only seen it from peering over the side whilst at the tiller many years ago.

Thank you James. Peering over the side ...... enough to give you vertigo I should think!

Hang on Studio Wall

Designed by Thomas Telford and completed in 1805. A marvel of engineering, 128 feet high over the River Dee.
