Very nice painting.

Lovely - she's going to be delighted

No pressure then Michael......you have no need to worry, the husband in question will be delighted with your painting. Love how you have nestled the cottage and church in amongst the trees, gives a lovely sense of distance to the far fields and misty valley beyond.

Thank you Kwok. So pleased you like it. Heather - you are always very generous in your praise. Thank you. Fiona - thank you so much! I did feel under pressure and not particularly well so your ‘thumbs up’ has boosted my confidence. Hoping to show the wife the painting tomorrow. I haven’t been able to get the painting mounted but maybe it is better she makes her own choice.

I really like this Micheal, I like the way you have painted the trees and the distance and church, nothing is overstated which is how it should be, I wish I could get it right! Well done👍

Thank you William. Don’t we all wish we could get it right! I painted this far more slowly than normal - probably the pressure of it being a commission. The danger then is of tightening up and a ‘stiff’ painting. Hope I just about got away with it!

Hello everyone - first painting for some time due to 'lurgi'. This is a commission for a lady in the village who asked me to paint a picture for her husband as a surprise Christmas present. I do hope she likes it -she hasn't seen it yet! It is the view down to the church and the rolling fields beyond on a rather misty morning - in the distance you can see fog in the Wye valley.
