It could be the Cairngorms Michael, looks cold enough that’s for sure! The sienna and umbers in the foreground look right at home against the blues of the Loch and mountain shadows.....and the shadows under the pines are gorgeous.

Thank you Heather, Fiona, Carole & Shirley. This one took 30 minutes. I’ve just laboured nearly 5 hours over another and it is bordering awful ...there’s a moral there somewhere!

Hang on Studio Wall

Based on a demonstration by Hazel Soan, this is my attempt at a similar scene. Decided to throw caution to the wind and slap the paint on fast (it shows!). All done in 30 minutes with the help of a hair dryer. This simple painting was fun to do. It was the strong contrasts in Hazel's demo which created a feeling of strong light that attracted me to have a go. If you find the original in a recent edition of 'The Artist' you will see how it should be done!
