Threatening sky

Great sky Michael!

Love this one Michael, simple subject, great drama.

Bags of atmosphere Michael. Great sky with the dark shadows on the land following its path.

A striking light in this painting against that very dark building - so effective Michael.

Thank you Heather. Skies are fun and much easier than foregrounds which cause me a lot of trouble! Thanks Willie - perhaps I should paint the sequel .... with the buildings almost obscured by driving rain! Fiona - glad you like the atmosphere. This painting is a combination of two scenes I saw in the Artists’ Magazine - sort of ‘morphed’ together. Should have fiddled less with the foreground but, hey ho, you can’t win them all. Chrissie - thank you. Strange isn’t it how painting something very dark emphasises light.

Great painting of the sky

Thank you Georgiana!

Like how everything leads to the dark house.

That sky is magnificent and I live the reflected reds made brighter by the silhouette.

Stephen & Diana - thank you. Fun to paint.

Excellent painting !

Hang on Studio Wall

This morning's quick dabble. Loosely based on a demonstration in the Artists Magazine. It's a bit overworked here and there but I'm not displeased with the overall effect. The threatening sky reached me as I finished this - absolutely chucking it down outside!
