This is excellent Michael , I like the hazy effect of the background.

I like this Michael, everything middle and distant understated giving that distant misty look and the boats just make it for me, no real detail but sturdy looking craft, a great sky, nice one.

So good Michael, a great sense of distance and the colours work beautifully

Love your handling of watercolours, especially that hazy background Michael.

Lovely work Michael. Like the way the boats are leading you into the painting.

Thank you all very much. Funny how a quick dabble ( hot & bothered) sometimes works better than one you spend hours on. Btw Carole, it has taken me a long, long time to get some sort of ‘handle’ on watercolour!

Soft colours and airy feel. Excellent.

Lovely clean washes.

I agree Micheal these quick dabbles often work, I suppose it’s because we paint with more freedom and lack of inhibition. For a made up scene it works really well and in my opinion you are well and truly getting a handle on this watercolour.

Micheal I agree with all the previous comments, you’ve certainly cracked the dabble. The distant and middle ground set the rest of the scene perfectly.

William, Stephens ( K&S) , Barry & Fiona - thank you for those encouraging words. It is easy to doubt oneself so to get the ‘thumbs up’ from fellow artists I admire is a boost and encouragement to “keep at it”.

Nice dabble.

Thanks Shirley 😊

Painted at some speed yesterday morning. Too hot to paint really - perhaps that's why I sub-consciously used some cool blues! Imaginary scene making it up as I went along. Could be south coast Chichester harbour but spire far too squat for the cathedral. It matters not - just fun to do before the heat finally got me.
