This is fantastic Michael. Love the background of umbrellas against those sienna buildings and the regal way the boat is ready to be taken out.

Lovely play of light and shadows Michael and the reflections appears to be dancing. Yes the larger boat looks out of place against its surroundings, the traditional boats have the character.

Like it a lot Michael

I like this a lot and the reflections are so confidently done, superb!

Carol, Fiona, Heather and William - thank you for those kind comments. Think I could have done better with the reflections in the water - still trying to get the technique right and I think I could do with a smaller brush with a nice new tip.

I really like this Michael, you can just feel the heat and the light passages dazzle your eyes. Great blending on the buildings intensifying the foreground, nice one.

Thank you very much Malcolm

A harbour scene somewhere in the Mediterranean. Moored in the tiny harbour is what I call an 'intruder' - a large "gin palace" far too big to be there. I don 't like them and much prefer the smaller traditional boats. However, they are easier to paint! If I can get my shaky hand under control, I'd like to have a go sometime at painting some old greek fishing boats. 15x11 in. on Arches 300lb NOT paper.
