Swan Lake

I like this Michael.

I like it very much Michael, especially the treatment of the greens in the distant trees. You’ve broken the washes and tones up so they are not overwhelming. The white reflection (?) on the left attracts the attention a wee bit, takes your eye from the swan? If I put my finger over the white area, it’s smashing.

Forgot to say, we have a pair of Ospreys as of this morning!

Thank you Heather. Found this one bit hard going and result is a bit too photographic for my liking. Fiona, thank you and yes I think you HAVE put your finger on it! Think I’ll tone down or remove the white cloud reflection completely and see if I like it better. Pleased to hear your two Ospreys are now in residence.

Watercolour of a nesting swan I saw in the Forest of Dean in 2017. Tricky to paint and I'm not quite sure about it!
