Great sense of movement !!

I think the sea is very convincing Michael. It’s not exactly rough, so what. I find watercolour an immensely difficult medium to paint seascapes. Pastels, acrylics and oils are a much easier medium for painting seascapes. Your painting is beautifully effective.

Love it. Smell the briny. Nice work Michael. Nothing at all wrong with the sea except the ship's riding a little high on it. Lovely.

I don’t see anything amiss Michael, it just shows your ability to paint all subjects....and extremely well.

Audrey Carole Jim & Fiona - thank you! Glad the sea looks OK to you. Think I could do it better with practice. Jim - you spotted what I had noticed - yes the ship is riding too high but I decided to fiddle no more! Fiona - I can’t paint ALL subjects - you should see my portrait attempts - they are terrible! 😡 Don’t think I’m cut out to paint faces.

I’m glad I’m not alone in portrait painting, my efforts were scary to say the least. They came in useful though, I put them around the garden to keep the cats away! 😉🤭

An attempt at a seascape. I'm happier with the sailing ship and sky than with the sea which is not very convincing. Think I need a concerted effort and practice at painting rough seas!
